Silmido Natural Recreation Area

Silmido Natural Recreation Area is a natural resort located on the northwestern coast of Muuido. It features a crescent-shaped white sand beach, with dense pine forests lining the shore. The pine forest provides deep shade even at midday, making it pleasant and cool. Thanks to its favorable environment for camping, many people visit to enjoy camping or car camping.

To the west of the recreation area, Silmido Island appears close enough to touch. Between the recreation area and Silmido, seawater recedes twice a day, revealing a wide sand flat, and you can walk along this path to Silmido. Silmido is also the filming location of the movie "Silmido," released in late 2003, which depicts the tragic true story of Unit 684.
