Why travelers stop here
This valley stretches about 4 km in all directions around Yongchubong Peak (523m) located in Yongyeon-ri, Yong-myeon, Damyang-gun. Although the mountain is not very high, the valley, clear water, and奇特 rocks and stones form a beautiful landscape over a large area of 311,000㎡. As you go up along the valley from the entrance, there are large and small waterfalls and ponds here and there, making you stop. The forest is well-formed, providing abundant shade, and there are well-maintained rest areas in the middle. If you go deeper along the valley road, you will find Gamagol Ecological Park, which requires an entrance fee. While entering the valley is not allowed in Gamagol Ecological Garden, swimming is possible in the downstream Gamagol Valley. Although it is less natural, the path is well-paved, and there are campsites, pensions, and restaurants around the valley, allowing for camping, swimming, and accommodation and meals. Damyangho Lake, where Gamagol Valley joins, is nearby, and Damyang Resort is about a 20-minute drive (approximately 16 km) away, and Damyang-eup is about a 24-minute drive away.
