Gamaso Valley

Gamaso Valley is a valley located in Cheongnim-ri, Sangseo-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do. Its name originates from the water pool beneath the waterfall and the surrounding terrain, which is hollowed out like a cauldron (gamasot in Korean), and is referred to as Buso (釜沼) in Chinese characters. The valley begins at Sebong (elevation 433m) in the southern part of the Byeonsan Peninsula and is formed along a relatively narrow gorge, boasting beautiful scenery. It is connected to its tributary, Waryongso Valley, and is commonly called 'Hoeyang Valley,' with a total length of about 9km. Although it belongs to an area within Naebyeonsan where transportation is somewhat inconvenient, the waterfalls and pools here are natural resources that well demonstrate the characteristics of river topography. Gamaso Valley is considered a key scenic spot not to be missed when exploring Naebyeonsan.
