Gosam Lake

경기도 안성시 고삼면 봉산리

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Gosam Lake, located in Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, is known as a sunrise spot, but its misty appearance at dawn gives a dreamlike and lyrical sense of mystery. The lake, which was the main setting for director Kim Ki-duk's film 'The Isle', features striking scenery of blue water and floating platforms.

Gosam Lake is famous as a fishing spot, but after the film's release, it also became known as a tourist course. It is relatively close to Seoul, making it suitable for a day trip. Since the entire lake was turned into an open set for the film, visitors can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere in its original state. The observatory installed on the lakeshore is good for viewing the sunrise here and for overlooking the lake and its surroundings. The stone monument island (Biseokseom) and Palja Island in the middle of the lake harmoniously spread out with the fishing platforms, and the chairs on the observatory are good for resting. A walking trail is well established along the lakeshore, making it great for a stroll.
