Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Baegunsan is a mountain on the border between Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do and Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do, with an elevation of 903.1m. As an earthen mountain, it has dense forests and well-developed valleys, but white granite rocks and cliffs (steep precipices) are scattered throughout, adding to the charm of hiking. The main ridge stretching north-south has gentle branch ridges extending westward, and the abundant water flowing from the mountain exposes bedrock, naturally revealing the beauty of the valleys. With plenty of water, it is popular as a summer hiking destination, and in winter, it serves as the starting point for a snow ridge trekking course passing through Gukmangbong to Cheonggyesan.
