The Hantaek Botanical Garden Foundation, established in 1979, is Korea's largest comprehensive botanical garden, spanning 200,000 pyeong (approximately 660,000 square meters) and housing over 10,000 species of plants, including 2,400 native species and 7,300 exotic species, totaling about 7.3 million plants. Along with its diverse collection of domestic and international plant species, it features systematic research activities through its plant research institute, mutual exchanges with domestic and international botanical gardens, and modernized facilities. Additionally, it has been designated as an 'Ex Situ Conservation Institution for Rare and Endangered Plants' by the Ministry of Environment, continuously carrying out projects to preserve native plants and restore their habitats, and offers various nature learning experiences and exhibitions.

Hantaek Botanical Garden includes beautiful gardens arranged according to the natural environment, such as the Natural Ecology Garden, Aquatic Plant Garden, Wall Garden Rock Garden, and Silver Grass Garden, as well as gardens displaying various plant varieties like the Daylily Garden, Hosta Garden, and Iris Garden. It also features an Australian Greenhouse with baobab trees reminiscent of 'The Little Prince,' a South African Greenhouse, a Herb and Carnivorous Plant Greenhouse, a lawn flower bed for comfortable rest and relaxation, and rest areas, totaling thirty-six unique gardens.
