Why travelers stop here
Daebudo is the largest island on the west coast, and it is said that the name Daebudo was given because it looks like a large hill. The largest dike in East Asia connecting Siheung Oido and Daebudo has been completed, allowing for drives and fishing along the ria coastline. In 2005, Gyeonggi Province designated Daebudo Bangameori Food Town as a food culture demonstration street, and in 2014, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs designated it as a dining district. At the entrance of Bangameori, crossing the Sihwa dike into Daebudo, about 60 restaurants are gathered, where you can taste fresh seafood unique to the seaside. In particular, the kalguksu (noodle soup) with thick, ripe, fresh, and chewy clams is famous for its refreshing broth and is a must-try dish when visiting Bangameori Food Culture Street. Bangameori Beach, right in front of Bangameori Food Culture Street, offers summer water play and sand play, and if you check the tide, you can also experience tidal flat activities, making it a place worth visiting together with the food culture street.
