Why travelers stop here
Gimpo International Sculpture Park was first established in 1998 by world-renowned artists including Giovanni Anselmo to spread the message of peace and reunification around the world through sculptural works. The 30 works by 14 international sculptors, including Daniel Buren, and 16 prominent domestic artists embody the wishes of Gimpo citizens for peace and reunification. With the concept of creating an artistic space in a pristine natural environment, the park prioritizes the preservation of the natural surroundings while installing works that are faithful to harmony with the environment from the design stage. Gimpo International Sculpture Park is the world's only natural art space where art works praying for peace and reunification harmoniously blend with the recreational forest of Munsusan Mountain. As a space realizing the ideal harmony of nature, art, and humanity, it pursues an ideal natural art space where art works and the public meet.
