Yeoju Hwangpo Sailboat

Located on the banks of the Namhan River, the Yeoju Hwangpo Sailboat is a cruise ship that recreates the hwangpo sailboats, which were a major means of transportation during the Joseon Dynasty. Yeoju was a bustling city, as two of the four major ferry ports of the Joseon Dynasty, Ipo Naru and Jopo Naru, were located here. Visitors can experience both the history and culture of Yeoju, which was the center of water transportation connecting Seoul and the central region. In Yeoju, you can ride the hwangpo sailboat at two locations: the Sejongdaewangho, operated by Yeoju City, and the Sinneuk Hwangpo Sailboat, operated by a private business.

The fare and course are the same, but each boat has its own advantages and disadvantages due to its structure, so you can choose according to your convenience. You can enjoy the superb scenery, which is so beautiful that it is called Yeogang (驪江), and listen to brief explanations about Sinneuksa Temple and nearby attractions. Since operations may be suspended in case of bad weather such as rain or freezing, it is recommended to contact them before visiting. Also, when going to the dock, you must bring your ID and fill out a boarding report to board.
