Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located near Bangameori Port Passenger Terminal, where ferries depart for Seungbong Island and Jawol Island in Ongjin County, Incheon, Bangameori Beach is a small beach with a white sand beach about 500m long. Although it is not well-equipped with convenience facilities, it is easily accessible by car via the Sihwa Embankment and has good geographical accessibility as the entrance to Daebudo Island, attracting many visitors. In addition to swimming, there is a pine forest above the sand beach where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the cool sea breeze, and on weekends, you can enjoy camping in the forest without additional camping fees, which is a major attraction. When the tide goes out, you can dig for clams in the mudflat, and it is said that the clam kalguksu (clam noodle soup) that has spread nationwide originated from Daebudo Island. That is, clam kalguksu was first prepared by salt pan workers for a quick and easy meal, and gained fame as tourists began to flock after the construction of the Sihwa Embankment in 1997. Around Bangameori Beach, there are also restaurants lined up where you can enjoy not only kalguksu but also grilled clams and seafood. The beach public parking lot operates an unmanned bicycle rental system where you can rent a bicycle for 1,000 won.
