Why travelers stop here
Gwangju City Cultural Foundation Gwangju City Arts Center is a complex cultural arts space located in Gwangju City, Gyeonggi-do, hosting performances such as classical, concerts, and musicals, as well as various cultural and artistic exhibitions. It opened in 2011 and features the Namhansanseong Hall with an area of 270 pyeong and 1,038 seats, and the Maengsaseong Hall with an area of 44 pyeong and 270 seats. As the cultural foundation has taken over the regional festival projects previously led by the city, it is attempting to transform them into entirely new content reflecting the latest trends. Various specialized projects of the cultural foundation are also being planned, such as the Youth Music Competition, Heo Nanseolheon Cultural Festival, and the Traveling Cinema. In addition, eight art academy rooms offer various art education courses for children to adults, including piano, violin, ballet, vocal music, and ink painting. Furthermore, Galleries 1 and 2 host joint exhibitions with local artists, leading the revival of regional culture and arts.
