Hwaseong City Folk Museum

This museum showcases the culture and history of the Hwaseong region. On the first floor, the Children's Culture Room offers various hands-on activities. It operates a permanent exhibition hall and a special exhibition hall. The Living Culture Room and History Culture Room are spaces where visitors can encounter the history and daily life of the people of Hwaseong, who lived in harmony with nature. A tug-of-war rope used in the Gijan-dong tug-of-war event of the Hwaseong area, where fishing and farming villages once coexisted, is displayed in the center. Visitors can observe the salt-making method of the Joseon Dynasty, where water was boiled to produce condensed salt. Entering the History Culture Room, one finds a space that covers various cultural properties located in Hwaseong, as well as the history of education in Hwaseong.
