Why travelers stop here
Oido is the largest shell midden site on the west coast and a location where various Neolithic artifacts have been excavated. It is recognized for its preservation value as a prehistoric coastal living cultural heritage. To protect and utilize these Oido relics, the Oido Prehistoric Relics Park was established in 2018, and the Siheung Oido Museum was built in 2019. In the park, visitors can encounter vivid scenes of Neolithic life, and the museum offers opportunities to more closely understand the excavated artifacts of Siheung and experience prehistoric living culture.
