Established in 1991, Gwacheon Cultural Center has been working to preserve and foster local culture and arts, expand cultural activities in the community, and inherit and develop traditional culture. It receives support from the national and local governments under the Local Cultural Center Promotion Act to back cultural policies and meet citizens' desire for cultural enjoyment.
Major projects include cultural school programs, historical and cultural academies, experience-sharing schools, and the Korean Chusa Calligraphy Exhibition. The cultural school offers various programs such as Western painting, ocarina, floristry, calligraphy, Korean dance, and gayageum.
