Why travelers stop here
Opened in 1996, Deokpojin Education Museum is a private museum operated by directors Kim Dong-seon and Lee In-sook, who were former elementary school teachers. In 1990, when his wife Director Lee In-sook lost her eyesight in a traffic accident, Director Kim Dong-seon established the museum with the educational materials he had collected and his retirement funds to keep his promise of 'letting her meet students again.' The museum consists of the Character Education Hall, the Educational History Hall, and the Agricultural Culture & Traditional Culture Exhibition Hall.
The Character Education Hall displays the appearance of schools and classrooms as well as various educational historical materials befitting an education-themed museum. It includes a 1960s old classroom of Class 3-2, a filial piety room, a 1960s study room, an old stationery & comic book store, a music education room, a physical education room, and a special exhibition room. Notably, the special exhibition room holds a special exhibition with a new theme every year.
