Why travelers stop here
Siheung Cultural Center was established in 1996 to develop, research, and investigate the traditional culture of Siheung, and to oversee cultural and social projects. On the first floor of the cultural center, the Siheung History Exhibition Hall opened in May 2003, displaying various artifacts that showcase the history and culture of Siheung. The Siheung Cultural Center operates the Siheung Cultural Heritage Research Society, the Lifelong Learning Education Center, the Siheung Figures Promotion Committee, and the Festival Promotion Committee. Additionally, it holds annual cultural classes for citizens and publishes the regular periodical Siheung Culture. Every year, the Siheung Cultural Center hosts the Yeonseong Cultural Festival at the Siheung Gwangokji Lotus Theme Park. As the area is famous for lotus flowers, there are many unique experiences related to them, along with various performances and traditional experience programs, offering plenty to see and do. The center also holds humanities lecture walks divided into the first and second halves of the year, covering themes of travel, art, and music that nourish the mind, helping to enhance cultural enjoyment and general knowledge. Siheung Cultural Center is significant as the only comprehensive cultural and arts institution in the Siheung area, leading the preservation and transmission of local traditional culture and the development and promotion of local culture and arts.
