Why travelers stop here
The Museum of Korean Modern and Contemporary History is a themed experiential exhibition hall where visitors can experience the daily life of Korea from the 1950s to the 1970s and create meaningful memories. From the 1910s to the 1940s, when Japan took away sovereignty, to the 1950s of the painful Korean War, and the 1970s to 1980s when the entire nation united with the single-minded determination to 'live well,' the museum moved approximately 70,000 pieces of various visual historical materials collected over 30 years to Heyri Village in 2005, hoping that those times would not be forgotten. The Museum of Korean Modern and Contemporary History, which exudes the scent of the past from its entrance, consists of one basement floor and three above-ground floors, and is Korea's first modern and contemporary history themed museum that fully recreates a village from different eras on each floor.
