Why travelers stop here
The Kim Hong-do Museum was established to commemorate Danwon Kim Hong-do, a genius painter of the late Joseon Dynasty. It is said that Kim Hong-do lived in Ansan from the age of 7 or 8 until he was 20, staying at the home of his teacher, Pyoam Kang Se-hwang, where he learned painting and writing. Therefore, Ansan built the Danwon Art Museum to honor the artistic spirit of Danwon Kim Hong-do. The Danwon Art Museum consists of Hall 1, Hall 2, Hall 3, the Facsimile Hall, the Imagination Art Factory, and an outdoor sculpture garden. Nearby attractions include Danwon Sculpture Park, Nojeokbong Artificial Waterfall, and Seongho Museum, making it a great place to visit together.
