Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located within the Yongin Cultural Welfare Administrative Town, the Maru Hall of the Culture and Arts Center opened in 2005 to enhance the leisure and cultural life of Yongin citizens. It has been operated by the Yongin Cultural Foundation, established in 2011. The Culture and Arts Center is a four-story above-ground and one-story below-ground building with a total area of 1,978m², housing the Yongin Cultural Foundation and various affiliated organizations, as well as a performance hall, exhibition rooms, conference rooms, and the Yongin Digital Information Library. In particular, it features a small theater, Maru Hall, which can accommodate 290 people (including 4 seats for the disabled), and an international conference room that can accommodate 180 people. Notably, Maru Hall has a stage area of 129.22m², designed to minimize reflected sound while maximizing reverberation to deliver the best possible sound quality. Various performances, mainly children's plays and family plays, are held here, and it is loved as a space where the whole family can comfortably visit and enjoy cultural activities. It is approximately 4 minutes from Seoyongin IC and a 9-minute walk (462m) from City Hall/Yongin University Station on the EverLine. Nearby attractions include Everland, Korean Folk Village, Korea Job World, UNESCO World Heritage Site Yunggeonneung, Mulhyanggi Arboretum, Yongin Rural Theme Park, and Deokpyeong Dinosaur Arboretum.
