Myongji University Museum, located on the Yongin Campus of Myongji University, is a comprehensive museum that collects, exhibits, and preserves materials related to Korean archaeology, history, art, and folklore. The museum originated from the collection of artifacts for educational purposes starting in 1968, and was officially established in March 1979. It is largely divided into an archaeology and art room and a folklore room, housing approximately 5,000 artifacts including stone tools, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings, and folk materials, as well as the collection and personal effects of Myongjin Yoo Sang-geun (1922~1992), the founder of Myongji Academy. Representative artifacts include Neolithic relics from the central-western island regions of the Korean Peninsula and ceramic relics from the Yongin area, along with the First Edition of Yogacarabhumi Sutra Volume 17 (National Treasure), Beopjip Byeolhaengrok Jeolyo Byeongipsagi (Treasure), and Singan Pyoje Gongjaga Eoguhae (Treasure). It takes about 6 minutes by car from Seoyongin IC and about 5 minutes from Everline Myongji University Station. Nearby attractions include Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, Gyeonggi Children's Museum, Korean Folk Village, Korean Lantern Museum, Poeun Jeong Mong-ju's Tomb, Maga Museum, Star Garden Space, and Hantaek Botanical Garden.
