Why travelers stop here
This museum, located on the Jukjeon Campus of Dankook University, honors the achievements of Dr. Seokju-seon (1911–1996), also known as Nansa. It was opened after Dr. Seokju-seon, a pioneer in the field of Korean costume history and an authority in folklore studies, donated 3,365 items of traditional clothing and folk artifacts collected throughout her lifetime. The museum is largely divided into the Archaeological Art Hall and the Folk Costume Hall. The first floor has a total of five exhibition rooms, while the second floor houses research and archive facilities, including artifact restoration and conservation science laboratories, and a convention hall. The museum holds a total of approximately 40,000 artifacts, of which about 1,500 are on display. Notably, 11 items (100 pieces), including the Ahn Jung-geun Calligraphy (Treasure) and the Deokon Princess Dangui, are designated as Important Folk Cultural Properties. Additionally, the [Misailrok], a record of diplomat Lee Beom-jin's activities as the Korean minister to the United States, has been designated as a National Registered Cultural Heritage. It takes about 8 minutes by car from Jukjeon Station on the Suin-Bundang Line, and there is a direct bus from the station to the campus. Nearby attractions include the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, Gyeonggi Children's Museum, and Korean Folk Village.
