Why travelers stop here
Located near the Korean Folk Village, the Gyeonggi-do Gugak Center opened in July 2004 to widely promote Korean traditional arts, expand the base of Korean traditional music, realize the globalization of traditional culture, and disseminate various traditional cultures to local residents and foreign tourists. It is an affiliated institution of the Gyeonggi Arts Center, which started with the establishment of the Gyeonggi Provincial Theater Troupe in 1990, launched as the Gyeonggi Cultural Center in 2004, and changed its name in 2020. The Gyeonggi-do Gugak Center is built as a two-story and three-story building. The performance hall has 470 seats (including 6 seats for the disabled), and auxiliary facilities include dressing rooms, ensemble rooms, practice rooms, instrument storage rooms, costume storage rooms, rest areas, a snack bar, and a children's playroom. It takes about 7 minutes by car from Suwon Singal IC and about 6 minutes from Sanggal Station on the Suin-Bundang Line, with a direct bus from the station. Nearby attractions include Everland, Korean Folk Village, Korea Job World, UNESCO World Heritage Site Yungneung and Geolleung, Mulhyanggi Arboretum, Yongin Rural Theme Park, and Deokpyeong Dinosaur Arboretum.
