Why travelers stop here
Located near Gangha Art Park, Giheungseong Museum is a museum displaying 1,000 model works created by founder Giheungseong over 50 years. It is the only model-specialized museum in Korea. Giheungseong is a master of architectural models and an expert in exhibition planning, including modern architecture and industrial models, as well as museums and exhibition halls. The museum exhibits various models such as architecture, civil engineering, automobiles, factory facilities, aviation, and ships across two floors: the first basement floor and the second floor. On the first basement floor, Exhibition Hall 1 features Korean traditional architectural model works from the Three Kingdoms period to the Joseon Dynasty. Giheungseong collaborated with experts to meticulously reproduce them based on thorough historical research and factual accuracy. On the second floor, Exhibition Hall 2 displays modern and contemporary architectural models from the 1960s to the present, including construction, architecture, and urban development projects that Giheungseong personally participated in, as well as famous overseas architectural models such as Baekan Hall and Burj Khalifa. Admission is free, and beverages are available at the café on the first floor. Behind the museum, an outdoor waterfront park offers walking paths, sculptures, and observation decks to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Namhan River.
