Seongnam Jungwon Library opened on May 2, 2000. It promotes the accumulation and active use of various information resources, and supports citizens' healthy reading life and cultural leisure activities through the operation of lifelong learning programs by life cycle, services for the knowledge-information vulnerable, and specialized travel and multicultural services, among other cultural programs. Jungwon Library consists of a general reading room, a reading room for the disabled, a literature and information room, an electronic information room, and a children's family reading room. Its collection includes not only general books and children's books but also serial publications such as newspapers and magazines. The cultural courses operated by the library include cultural classes, reading groups, and computer classes. The cultural class offerings include English conversation, Chinese conversation, humanities reading, creative cartoon classes, and Eastern and Western history.
