Dongducheon Cultural Center is a place dedicated to preserving and developing the local culture and history of Dongducheon. It records and preserves cultural heritage, legends, and disappearing old customs that embody the spirit and wisdom of ancestors. The center has two floors above ground and one basement, featuring lecture rooms, a library and reference room, and meeting rooms. As part of various local cultural projects tailored to regional conditions and characteristics, it annually operates a cultural school for various cultural and artistic events and to establish values for youth. Cultural and artistic projects include events that allow enjoyment of Dongducheon's natural and historical resources, such as the Soyosan Maple Festival, Samchungdan Memorial Service, Traditional Coming-of-Age Ceremony, Heungdeokmun Memorial Service, and Haengdanje. It also conducts academic education projects such as adult literacy education recognized for academic credit and historical and cultural exploration tours.
