Hwajeokyeon Camping Site

Pocheon Hwajeokyeon Camping Site is located in Sajeong-ri, Gwanin-myeon. The Hantan River flows alongside the campsite. The campsite operates 41 auto camping sites on a 19,834㎡ site. The sites are divided into three sections: A, B, and C, and consist of crushed stone and gravel. If you bring a personal caravan, it is recommended to camp at the larger B or C sites. Restrooms, showers, and sinks are well-equipped. In particular, the restrooms are warm in winter as the heaters work well. Additionally, the restroom stalls feature paintings of animals such as lions and giraffes in the grasslands, which are well-received by children. The showers are relatively clean and are closed from 11 PM for cleaning. Near the campsite is Hwajeokyeon, Scenic Site No. 93. If you go down to the Hantan River right next to the campsite, you will see a uniquely shaped giant rock lying in the river. The towering rock formation in the middle of the meandering river looks like a stack of rice sheaves, so it was once called Byeotgari So (Rice Sheaf Rock). The scenery is so beautiful that it was even depicted in a painting by Gyeomjae Jeongseon, making it a recommended linked tourist attraction.
