Why travelers stop here
Located near Yongin Agricultural Theme Park, Yongdam Taegeyo Dulle-gil is a unique walking trail themed around prenatal education (taegyo), the first of its kind among the many dulle-gil (circular walking trails) in South Korea. It is a comfortable path for pregnant women and the mobility-impaired, offering beautiful surrounding scenery with benches and cafes along the way for a leisurely stroll. Yongin is home to Yi Sajudang, a female literary figure of the late Joseon Dynasty comparable to Shin Saimdang, who authored 'Taegyoshin-gi' in 1800, Korea's first book on prenatal education emphasizing its importance. Accordingly, Yongin City has positioned itself as a prenatal education city, actively reflecting this in its policies. As part of the 'Creating a Happy City for Mothers and Babies' project, a 4.1km walking trail encircling Yongdam Reservoir was established and named Yongdam Taegeyo Dulle-gil. Starting from the trail entrance, which has a management office, restroom, and parking lot, the left side offers a course along the reservoir embankment and gentle hills, while the right side provides a flat course with a fishing area, taking about one hour. It is approximately a 10-minute drive from Yangji IC. Nearby attractions include Everland, Korean Folk Village, UNESCO World Heritage sites Hwaseong Fortress and Yunggeonneung Royal Tombs, Deokpyeong Dinosaur Arboretum, Starlight Garden Uju, and Hantaek Botanical Garden.
