[Gyeonggi Old Road Yeongnam-gil Course 5] Suyeoseon Old Road (Yongin Culture Welfare Administration Town ~ Yangji-myeon Namgok-ri)

Located near Yongin Central Market, [Gyeonggi Old Road Yeongnam-gil Course 5] Suyeoseon Old Road (Yongin Culture Welfare Administration Town ~ Yangji-myeon Namgok-ri) is a historical and cultural exploration trail where you can walk along the old Suyeoseon rail line and feel the atmosphere of the past. [Gyeonggi Old Road] is a new type of historical and cultural exploration trail that connects local cultural heritage sites through walking paths based on historical research, restoring six major road networks leading to Hanyang (Seoul) during the Joseon Dynasty. Among the 116km of Yeongnam-gil, the Suyeoseon Old Road passing through Yongin City is a railway track that was opened in 1930 and used until its closure in 1972, and is still used as a general road today. It is the path created closest to the original form of the Yeongnam-daero. Suyeoseon Old Road is a course of approximately 11.6km one way, taking about 4 hours, spanning from Yongin Culture Welfare Administration Town to Yangji-myeon Namgok-ri. Walking along Geumhakcheon Stream from Yongin Administration Town, you encounter Yonginjang (Yongin Central Market), one of the oldest five-day markets. The Everline along Geumhakcheon Stream resembles part of the old Suyeoseon rail line. Passing Yonginjang and following the confluence point at Geumhakcheon Stream, you reach the Yangjicheon Stream walking path. Continuing along, you arrive at Yangji-myeon Namgok-ri, which was the center of southern Yongin. Originally, the Yangjicheon Stream walking path section was a serene forest trail through Bongdusan Mountain with beautiful mountain paths, but the entrance to the hiking trail was closed due to damage to crops on private land, making it no longer usable as an exploration trail. Near Yangji-myeon Namgok-ri, there is a jeongnyeogak (commemorative pavilion) for Yu Bok-rip, who died during the Imjin War at Jinjuseong Fortress.
