Why travelers stop here
Yangsuri Traditional Market is one of the three major traditional markets in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province. It is located at the confluence of the Bukhangang River, which starts from Geumgangsan Mountain, and the Namhangang River, which starts from Geomnyongso in Gangwon Province. The origin of Yangsuri Traditional Market is Yangsuri Ferry. This place flourished greatly due to its locational advantage of connecting Jeongseon and Danyang in Gangwon Province, where the uppermost waterway of the Namhangang River flowed, and Ttukseom and Mapo Ferry, the terminus of the waterway. Yangsuri Traditional Market is about a 40-minute drive from Seoul, and nearby attractions such as Dumulmeori and Semiwon offer plenty to see. The market offers a variety of food, household items, clothing, shoes, and other goods, as well as entertainment facilities like karaoke rooms. On the 1st and 6th of every month, a traditional five-day market is held at the entrance, offering even more to see and buy. Additionally, the completion of the arcade construction has doubled shopping convenience, and a large parking lot and taxi stand at the entrance make access to the market easy.
