Why travelers stop here
Sosa General Market is a traditional market established in 1980 in the Sosa-dong area. Around 1978, rice shops and barbershops began to appear in the market area, along with street stalls forming in various places, leading to the formation of the market. It was called Alley Market or Goblin Market because it was located in an alley. Since the market was situated along a main road, people in the Sosa area had to pass through the market to go to Bucheon Station or take a bus, resulting in a large floating population and a relatively large commercial district. Sosa General Market is also called Daebo Market. This is because a 14-story Seyoung Residential-Commercial Complex Tower now stands at the entrance of the current market, and before this complex was built, people created a market there and obtained a permit to operate under the name Daebo Market. After considering naming the market Daebo Market, which was more familiar to people, it was decided to name it Sosa General Market.
