This is a traditional market that formed naturally in 1983. It was approved as a recognized market in December 2005 under the 'Special Act on the Revitalization of Traditional Markets' promulgated on March 1, 2005. Yeokgok Nambu Market stretches approximately 300 meters east-west from Yeokgok Station toward Yeokgok Police Station, with about 100 large and small shops lining the street. The number of workers reaches around 190. It is the first market in Bucheon to install a shading tunnel for the convenience of users. It is located at a transportation hub where Gyeongin National Road, Seoul Outer Ring Expressway, and Subway Line 1 pass. The surrounding area is a typical neighborhood living space equipped with a subway station, fire station, schools, agricultural cooperatives, and fisheries cooperatives.
