Why travelers stop here
Yanggot Market, which retains traces of a marketplace imbued with anti-Japanese history, was formerly called Orani Market. Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, was the site of a large-scale independence movement comparable to that of Seoul, where thousands of Gimpo citizens gathered at Orani Market to hold independence demonstrations. This traditional market, preserving that spirit, is located about 250 meters right next to Yangchon-eup Administrative Welfare Center. Using public transportation, you can get off at Gimpo Bukbyeon Station and walk to the market. Yanggot Market has about 80 permanent stores, and on the 1st and 6th of each month, a street stall tent is set up in the nearby public parking lot, and a five-day market is also held. At the Yanggot Market five-day market, you can purchase various items such as instant food, vegetables, and fruits, and it is also quite fun to browse. Yanggot Market, with its warm rural market feel, is a place of meeting and communication for local residents, offering the joy of seeing, eating, and talking. ※ Pets allowed (leash and waste bags required)
