To the west of Samcheonpo Port, bordering the sea, Gaksan (elevation 398m) surrounds Silan-dong like a horseshoe. Although it is not widely known due to the imposing presence of Waryongsan across the way, it is a beloved mountain among local residents. The mountain is a typical earthen mountain, giving a gentle and cozy feel. The Gaksan Fortress and beacon tower located on the southern ridge highlight the strategic importance of this mountain.
