Why travelers stop here
It is located 20km south of the county seat of Gangjin-gun. During the Goryeo Dynasty, it served as a port for exporting celadon produced in Daegu-myeon, and it is said to have been named Baeksa (White Sand) due to the abundance of white sand in the offshore waters. At Baeksa Fishing Village Experience Village, various tidal flat experience programs such as digging for clams and cockles, tidal flat fishing from fishing boats, and more allow visitors to create precious memories and experience the energy of nature that cannot be felt in the city. Tourists can enjoy various tidal flat experiences, fishing ground experiences, and boarding experiences as part of fishing village cultural experiences, and the site offers a panoramic view of the vast Gangjin Bay, making it popular among visitors. To the west, the pristine clean sea forms a cone-shaped inlet rich in nutrients, producing fresh shellfish and fish, allowing visitors to savor the delicacies of clean regional seafood. As this area was also a site for exporting celadon during the Goryeo Dynasty, visitors can also try pottery experiences at the Celadon Museum.
