Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Goraeng-gil is named after the characteristics of Pyeongchang, a high and cold highland area with an elevation of over 600 meters. The trail starts in front of Phoenix Park, crosses a small hill, and follows a forest path, allowing visitors to enjoy a forest bath while walking toward Bongpyeong, where buckwheat flowers bloom. The course alternates between uphill and downhill sections, is covered with dense forest, and offers the joy of being with nature. Since it is a dirt path, it is not too difficult to walk. At the end of Goraeng-gil, the Hyo Seok Literature Forest is located, and the trail continues to Bongpyeong Hyoseok Culture Village, the actual setting of the novel 'When Buckwheat Blooms.' It is said that in the past, on market days in Bongpyeong, people crossed this path from Myeonon to Bongpyeong.
