Cheongoksan Mountain (Pyeongchang)

강원특별자치도 평창군 미탄면 백운리

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Cheongoksan Mountain, whose name originates from the abundant growth of the wild vegetable cheongok, is a 1,256m-high mountain with relatively gentle ridges, and the 'Yukbaek Majigi' field is located at its summit. A hike takes about 5 hours, and near the summit is Daebonsa Temple, dedicated to the Three Spirits faith. Next to the Yukbaek Majigi Cheongoksan Observatory, a trail leads to the summit, divided into a walking path and a barrier-free wooden deck path. The barrier-free path is 760m long, allowing wheelchair or stroller users to reach the summit; from the observatory, it takes about 20 minutes on foot to arrive. Highland vegetables such as radishes and cabbages are cultivated on the Cheongoksan plains, and the jungalmu radish is especially famous for its sweet, pear-like taste. Nearby attractions include Cheongoksan Dokkaebi-gil, Sanneomi Ranch, and Suha Valley.
