The relics are said to have been originally located in Yongbawigol, Huyong-ri, Munmak-eup, and were moved to this site. The stele is no longer extant. The turtle base (gibu) and dragon head (isu) are made of the same granite material, giving the stone a grayish-white color. The turtle base resembles a dragon more than a turtle, and it is unique in that its head is turned to the left, looking upward. It is said that this stone was also used when erecting the current Stele for the State Preceptor Wongong at Geodonsa Temple.
