Yonghwa Reservoir

Yonghwa Reservoir, located in Sincheolwon-ri, Galmal-eup, Cheorwon-gun, is an artificial reservoir built in 1960 by expanding a natural pond and constructing it with gravel. The reservoir has a surface area of 28.47 hectares, a storage capacity of 17,770 tons, a watershed area of 1,400 hectares, and an irrigation area of 450 hectares, supplying water to Jipori and Guntan-ri. Sambuyeon Waterfall is located downstream of the reservoir. Wild greens harvested from the mountain slopes around Yonghwa-dong are another source of pride. Climbing the nearby Myeongseongsan Mountain is also enjoyable. A walking trail has been created around the lake, making it a pleasant place for a leisurely stroll.
