Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Jikyeon Falls is a 15-meter-high waterfall developed on the bed of Suipcheon Stream, which flows into Paro Lake. Located in Bangsan-myeon, Jikyeon Falls is one of the representative tourist attractions boasting beautiful natural scenery, and a walking trail has been created along the path to the waterfall, making it ideal for viewing the falls. The name Jikyeon Falls comes from the water falling straight down, and around it, a rock wall about 20 meters high reveals beautiful scenery as if a folding screen has been set up. The pond below the waterfall, Jikyeonso, is 20 meters deep and is home to many fish species that mainly inhabit clear streams and lakes, such as carp, crucian carp, catfish, Korean perch, Chinese minnow, and pale chub. In summer, it is a popular destination where many people visit to enjoy water play, and with walking and hiking trails available, visitors can enjoy various activities. Nearby tourist attractions include Bangsan Waterfront Park, Yanggu Baekja Museum, Bangsan Ceramic Museum, Dutayeon Valley, and Baekseoksan Battle Memorial.
