Why travelers stop here
Yongchu Falls is one of the tourist attractions in the Mureung Valley Scenic Site. Located about 2.5 km west of Samhwa-sa Temple, the entrance to Mureung Valley, Yongchu Falls features water flowing down from Cheongoksan Mountain forming three deep rock pools shaped like jars (upper, middle, and lower).
Ssangpokpo Falls, located 70m below Yongchu Falls, is so high and beautiful that the water source seems to be mistaken for the sky. The meeting of the water coming down from Yongchu Falls and the water from Bakdal Valley here seems to represent the natural principle of yin and yang and the order of nature, and together with Yongchu Falls, it forms the peak of Mureung Valley.
