Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located at the northernmost point of Chungcheongnam-do and closest to Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, Daenanjiseom is the largest of the three inhabited islands in Seokmun-myeon, Dangjin-si. It is called Nanjiseom because many orchids (nancho) and medicinal herbs (jicho) grow there. Nanji Village uses a boat route that passes through Daejodo and Sonanjido to connect to the mainland. Yongmot Park, located between the village and the beach, has bungalows available for year-round accommodation. Daenanjiseom is a beautiful island selected as one of Korea's top 10 scenic islands, with recreational forests developed around the beach. The sunset viewed from the beach is particularly famous. Visitors can enjoy ecological experiences such as tidal flat exploration and sea fishing, and the island's abundant ecological resources offer a variety of fresh seafood, making it a great destination for families.
