Domyeongsan

Located in Hwayang-ri, Cheongcheon-myeon, Goesan-gun, this mountain stands at an elevation of 643m and embraces Hwayang-dong, a natural valley within Songnisan National Park. It is a mountain formed by a rocky uplift before the mountain range branching north from Nagyeongsan subsides into Hwayangcheon. As its name suggests, many people can be seen offering sincere prayers near Samchebul to practice asceticism. The summit takes about 10 minutes to reach, with well-maintained safety facilities such as wooden stairs and wire ladders, making the ascent easy.

The summit is formed by five large and small rocks grouped together. Sitting on the tallest and largest rock feels transcendent. To the east lies the ridge extending from Baegaksan, to the west beyond it is Geumdansan, to the south beyond Nagyeongsan are the sawtooth-like peaks of Songnisan, and to the north across Hwayangcheon stands the majestic Gunasan. Around the summit, a few well-shaped pine trees evoke the passage of fleeting time.
