Aurora Park

Aurora Park is a cultural experience park created at the closed Tongni Station as part of a project to utilize idle railway land for tourism resources. Inside the park, visitors can also experience a mine cart, which is moved by two people alternately pushing and pulling a handle up and down. The Snowflower Observatory, which offers views of the Baekdudaegan mountain range and the east coast region, is 49.2 meters high and is the only tower observatory in Taebaek City. It is decorated with the theme of Taebaek's night sky, and in line with the characteristics of Tongni Station, which was built at an elevation of 680 meters, it also introduces content about highland stations from five countries around the world, including Pike's Peak Station in the United States, Kuranda Station in Australia, and Tanggula Station in China. The observatory can be accessed by walking or by elevator. Admission is free, and the night view of Aurora Park, with its colorful lights, is also beautiful.
