Why travelers stop here
Seoraksan Chaek is a complex culture and arts space operated by the Seorak Cultural Foundation, the corporate body of the Seorak Cable Car, and aims to be a space where everyone can freely enjoy cultural and artistic benefits. Going beyond the role of a conventional cultural center, it is a new type of complex cultural space that offers performances, exhibitions, and lectures, as well as a book café housing about 10,000 books, music practice rooms with state-of-the-art soundproofing, and spacious seminar rooms and convenience facilities, all provided free of charge. In addition, the free performances held at Seoraksan Chaek's Café Sori are among the best in the country in terms of artistic quality and number of events, and the space also supports the activities of local artists. Seoraksan Chaek strives for the encounter of music and knowledge, and the exchange between art and the region.
San&Chaek is an open space that encompasses both a library and a bookstore. The first floor features new releases and books by genre, while the second floor is divided into foreign-language books and art books. San&Chaek is freely accessible to everyone, and visitors can enjoy coffee and beverages alongside their books. Hwaban, a Korean restaurant that captures the lushness of Seoraksan Mountain and the solidity of Ulsanbawi Rock at a glance, serves our agricultural produce grown directly in the garden of the adjacent restaurant. The Kitchen Garden offers not only fresh seasonal produce but also spectacular views with its beautiful landscaping. At Café Sori, visitors can comfortably enjoy classical music in the morning and jazz in the afternoon through various high-end speakers and vacuum tube amplifiers. While savoring carefully selected coffee beans and freshly baked cakes and desserts, you can take in the seasonal views of Ulsanbawi Rock and the Kitchen Garden all at once.
