Inje Misan-ri Gaein Mineral Spring

Inje Misan-ri Gaein Mineral Spring is a carbonated mineral spring located in the Gaein-dong valley. Gaeinsan Mountain has a cozy, basket-shaped topography with five peaks ranging from 1,327 to 1,444 meters above sea level. The spring is situated on the mid-slope of Jueokbong, one of the five peaks of Gaeinsan Mountain. This spring was designated as a Natural Monument on January 13, 2011. Rainwater absorbed into the western slope of Gaeinsan Mountain, which lies on the Baekdudaegan mountain range, passes through rock debris, dissolving minerals such as iron, and rises through a crevice beside the valley. Gaein Mineral Spring is known for its high content of carbonic acid and iron, and is reputed to be particularly effective in treating gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes, attracting many visitors. Around the spring, old trees such as spruce, fir, linden, and yew, over 300 years old, thrive, enhancing the taste of the spring water. The Misan Valley at the entrance to the spring and the surrounding area, including Bangtaesan Mountain and Guryongdeokbong Peak (1,388m), offer pristine forests and clear valley streams flowing into Naerincheon Stream, creating scenic views that are also popular as a tourist course.
