Yanguidae Stream Wetland (Gangwon Peace Area National Geopark)

This wetland was formed due to changes in water volume caused by the construction of Peace Dam (South Korea) and Imnam Dam (North Korea). It is a terrain where the meandering Hwacheon Stream was transformed into a wetland, making it a landform influenced by human activity. Since the armistice, civilian access has been strictly controlled, and as a result, the stream wetland is known to be in an exceptionally well-preserved state. Additionally, various habitats such as streams, wetlands, and low hills are organically connected, forming a terrain of significant ecological importance as a habitat for flora and fauna.
