Wondang Valley

A 6km-long valley located in Wondang-ri, Pyeongchang-eup, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. This place is not widely known as it is overshadowed by the Pyeongchanggang River resort area and Noeun Valley. Therefore, this secluded area preserves the pristine beauty of an untouched primitive valley. Also, the water is not deep and the current is not strong, making it a habitat for various freshwater fish, including the Korean native species, the shiri (Korean spotted sleeper). At the mid-mountain area at the end of the valley, there is a temple called 'Baekdeoksa'. Along with the dawn Buddhist service, it is loved as a sunrise spot where one can see beautiful sunsets and sunrises. There are many campsites around Baekdeoksa, making it an ideal place for campers who want to escape the city and enjoy a quiet trip in nature.
