Why travelers stop here
Samcheok Sinri Neowa Village is a rural experience and recreation village located in Sinri, Dogye-eup, Samcheok-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. Famous as a filming location for the KBS entertainment program '2 Days & 1 Night,' Sinri Neowa Village is a typical mountain village formed as a natural settlement through slash-and-burn farming. The neowa houses (wooden shingle-roofed houses) and communal stamp mills are preserved in their original state, making the village widely known across the country as the 'Neowa Village.' Visitors can stay in the neowa houses and experience the mountain village filled with a cool valley, fresh air, the scent of soil, and the scent of grass. The village boasts eco-friendly agricultural specialties from the mountainous region, such as wild grapes, Solomon's seal, and arrowroot juice, and visitors can taste pollution-free natural foods as well as have the opportunity to purchase inexpensive, high-quality products. In particular, 'Clos Neowa,' a wild grape wine, is a wine that won a gold prize at the Gangwon-do Wine Tasting Competition.
