Bangdong Mineral Spring

This mineral spring is a mysterious water with efficacy recognized by the Central Council for Nature Preservation as one of the 'Famous Waters of Korea'. Not only is the taste of the water remarkable, but it is also a place where you can feel the unique atmosphere of Inje County. Bangdong Mineral Spring contains high levels of carbonic acid, giving it a refreshing, tangy taste, and it also contains iron, manganese, and fluorine, making it especially effective for stomach ailments and aiding digestion.

About 300 years ago, a ginseng hunter discovered a 60-year-old wild ginseng, a mysterious miracle medicine, in this area of Bangdong-ri. At the spot where he dug it out, mineral water began to gush forth—this is Bangdong Mineral Spring. Since the day the ginseng was unearthed, people have continuously visited, and many have reportedly experienced its healing effects. The colorless, transparent spring water emerges from deep rock crevices beneath a more than 300-year-old Kalopanax tree and is protected by a wooden cover. The surrounding forest is lush, and various rock formations, waterfalls, and valleys stretch out in succession, offering a tranquil and pristine natural experience. It is a must-visit spot when traveling to nearby Bangtaesan Natural Recreation Forest and Bangtaesan Valley.
