Gwanak-gu Public Stadium

This stadium is owned by Seoul Gwanak-gu and is used for individual and club sports activities by Gwanak-gu residents, and is also a frequent venue for local sports competitions. It opened on July 23, 1992. The area is 12,713㎡ and consists mainly of an artificial turf field used as a soccer field, as well as a volleyball court, basketball court, and tennis court. In 2004, an investment of 1.3 billion won was made to renovate the existing stadium into an artificial turf field, install a 294m-long 4-lane jogging track around the field, and build a modernized main stand with about 1,400 seats. In 2006, two lighting towers and 20 floodlights (2,000W each) were installed, allowing the stadium to be used at night, which significantly increased the number of users. The artificial turf field is sized for youth soccer (91m long, 45m wide) and requires advance reservation with a usage fee. The tennis court (4 courts) can be used by reservation or on a first-come, first-served basis, also with a usage fee. Opening hours are from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and private lessons are available. Since April 2007, the Gwanak-gu Facility Management Corporation has been entrusted with its operation and management. Gwanak-gu Public Stadium is located at the foot of Gwanaksan Mountain, about 800m from Exit 4 of Nakseongdae Station on Subway Line 2.<br>
